South Jersey Home Healthcare FAQ

FAQ for Care Right There Home Care

What Is Home Care?

Home care is care that allows a person with special needs stay in their home. It might be for people who are getting older, are chronically ill, recovering from surgery, or disabled.

What do Home Care Services include?

Home care services include: Companion Care, such as light cleaning or light cooking, company to keep a person from loneliness or depression, and encouragement to become mobile; act as a buddy to take the individual around or a guardian. The companion also typically runs errands for the individual, takes them to appointments, stays with them over night to watch over them, can stay with a loved one at a hospital during the night or during recovery to be there when you cannot.

Then there is Personal care, such as help with bathing, washing hair, personal hygiene, getting dressed, medical reminders, light medical attention, or monitoring. The personal care aspects are usually handled by a Certified Homemaker Home Health Aide.

Some individuals may require skilled medical care in the home. Licensed Practical Nurse and Registered Nurses as well as Certified Nursing Assistants are provided for those that require this type of care.

What are my typical options to explore when a loved one is in need?

There are several different options to consider when faced with caring for a loved one. Home Care, Adult Day Care, Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes are what is available to most.

Yes. Care Right There LLC provides companions to you or your loved one in one’s home, an assisted living facility, hospital, and/or shelter. Our goal is to provide quality care in the environment that’s most comfortable to you or your loved ones.

What is Respite Care?

It is estimated that nearly 44 million Americans (predominately Baby Boomers) regularly care for an elderly relative.

With so many people depending on them, it is crucial that caregivers take the time to care for themselves. No matter how much they love the people they are caring for, caregivers need regular breaks to be their best. Care Right There LLC provides this type of rest which is referred to as Respite Care.

We provide professional in-home care for seniors and other adults who require assistance to temporarily relieve caregivers so they can attend to other matters such as the following:

  • Run errands
  • Spend time shopping
  • Meet with a support group
  • Make a dentist or doctor appointment
  • Enjoy much-deserved alone time

Respite care services give caregivers the unique opportunity to leave home for a few hours with the peace of mind that comes with knowing their loved ones are in capable hands. With Care Right There LLC respite care services, caregivers can schedule as much or as little time away as they need. Arranging respite care is easy, whether they need a few hours a week to run errands or around-the-clock care so they can make it to an event out of town.

Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or assisted living communities?

Yes. Care Right There LLC can provide companionship or personal care to residents at assisted living communities and nursing homes who may desire additional attention or personalized care.

Is there a fee if I cancel services? How much do Companion care services cost?

There is no fee if you decide to cancel all services with Care Right There LLC. The cost of service varies on a case-by-case basis. Care Right There LLC accepts personal payment for services and can also work with those individuals that have Life Insurance policies valued at $5ok and above.

Care Right There LLC also works with Veterans and their surviving spouses to help them find out which benefits they qualify for.

Our clients can cancel at ANY time. There are NO binding contracts that keep you locked into services with us. We stand behind our promise to give you white glove service all of the time. Care Right There only asks that you let us know when you are not happy and then give us ample time to try and correct any issues before canceling.

Is there a written plan of care for each client? Is it modified and if so, how often?

Our Director of Nursing or Nurse Supervisor will assess the client. From the assessment, we develop an individualized and completely confidential Plan of Care for each client. The purpose is to document the type of care services needed and when the client would like to initiate care. Once the client, and family members, and local office agrees on the Plan of Care, the office staff will use that information to recommend the Caretaker who will be delivering the service, establishes the schedule and agrees to the monitoring and communication.

Plans of Care are reviewed with the client and family at least every three months, but may be more frequent based on state regulations. The review is an important process to ensure the client is receiving the appropriate level of care and is pleased with the Caregiver providing the care.

What if my loved one needs medication or a transfer?

Care Right There LLC Homemaker Home Health Aides can only give medication reminders but can assure your loved one takes their medication when needed. If medical medication administration is needed, Care Right There LLC NJ requires physician’s orders and the medicines cna only be administered by a licensed Registered Nurse or LPN. LPNs and Nurses all report into the Director of Nursing and will only give the medication specified in the Plan of Care under Physician’s orders. All of our employees are licensed for personal care and as such are also able to transfer your loved one to ensure comfort and quality care

Will I have the same caregiver all the time? How will I meet my caregiver?

During the initial conversation and the in-home visit, the Director of Nursing or Nurse Supervisor will document the services required as well as important information and preferences in order for us to have enough information to ensure the best caregiver match. This process is called “intake”. After intake, a Care Coordinator is assigned to the client/family. At this point, the Care Coordinator will act as your account manager handling the client account for the life of the account.

The Director of Nursing/Nurse Supervisor reviews the intake profile with the Care Coordinator and they work together to select the best caregiver fit for the client. The Care Coordinator will then arrange an introduction between the client and caregiver to introduce each member of this new team. During that meeting, all of the involved parties review the Plan of Care to ensure that everyone agrees and understands what services are to be provided.

What if my Caregiver is sick or on vacation?

At Care Right There LLC we employ a team of caregivers so that your care service will not be interrupted if someone gets sick or goes on vacation. If your Caregiver is unavailable, the assigned Care Coordinator will arrange another caregiver and will contact you in advance of the change. The Care Coordinator will also introduce the interim caregiver to you and review your Plan of Care with the interim caregiver prior to service. Our goal is to ensure that services are provided as expected. Your safety and security are a top priority.

What are ADLs and IADLs?

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) include the basic tasks essential for day-to-day functioning, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, mobility and toileting. Many seniors who require help with such activities are largely independent, but may require help with one or two ADLs. In some cases, intermittent help from a family member or friend may be all that is needed. However, in many cases, particularly when family or friends are unavailable and the importance of scheduling these activities is critical, informal care arrangements may not be adequate.

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are considered those activities which are less basic than the traditional ADLs. IADLs, nevertheless, are important in enhancing a client’s quality of life. IADLs include such activities as shopping, paying bills, cleaning, doing the laundry and meal preparation. Many seniors require assistance with IADLs rather than ADLs. Some seniors want someone to escort them when they are shopping and help them avoid situations that might cause them to fall. Other seniors may welcome assistance with their bill paying and medical appointments. Care Right There LLC offers an array of companionship, homemaking and personal services to assist our clients with the IADLs. Please contact us for more information.
